I’m very happy that we now have an international forum on which all of these issues can be discussed and even decided upon, taking into account all the diversity that now exists within our Movement, and at the same time, being concerned to preserve our unity and our harmony.

I shall be listening, as it were from a distance, to the humming of this busy little hive, of the International Council. But I shall expect it to be functioning entirely, as it were, autonomously as far as I’m concerned. And I look forward to seeing it achieve great things.

Sangharakshita, during the 1st International Council meeting 2011.

Since it was founded in 2011, with the blessing of Sangharakshita, the International Council has met in-person and more recently online too.  What has it achieved?  What next?
