The Team
The work of the International Council is by definition collaborative with a few ‘staff’ to help coordinate and encourage progess with our priorities.
We could include all delegates around the world, working in their respective Area Councils. We could include the steering group who most months gather online to discuss plans, issues and to keep information flowing.
But this page focuses on those who are employed in various functions.
Jñānagarbha
started attending the Bristol Centre in 1992, and soon became centre manager. After Ordination in 1998, he moved to Rivendell retreat centre, and went on to become chair of the Croydon Centre. In 2006 he became a father and supported himself through a curious combination of coaching, consultancy and carpentry. He returned to working for Triratna in 2025, and describes his role as ‘joining everything up’ through ‘having chats with people’.
Aparājita
has an official title of ‘assistant to the International Council’ and takes care of this website, other comms and admin work, whilst also working for the Manchester Buddhist Centre (UK). Nothing makes him happier than being useful!
Jñānadhara
Originally from New Zealand, Jnanadhara met Triratna while studying music. After a time working with windhorse:evolution in the U.K. he relocated to Ireland where for 12 years he was Chair of the Dublin Buddhist Centre. Still based in Dublin, he now works as International Movement Coordinator joining up different parts of the Triratna Buddhist Community worldwide.
Vishvapani
Vishvapani has a longstanding connection to Triratna communications, being a founder and editor for Dharma Life (magazine) as well as a regular contributor on ‘Thought For The Day’ on BBC radio. His 2 books have made a significant contribution to our appreciation and understanding of the Buddha and Sangharakshita.
